RiksSårs data är unika och används inom klinisk patientnära medicinsk forskning och omvårdnads- och registerforskning, där registerbaserade studier är ett komplement till kontrollerade randomiserade kliniska prövningar.
Forskning på RiksSårs data
Forskning på RiksSårs data har visat på kortare sårläkningstider och antibiotikabehandling när patienter registreras i RiksSår jämfört med innan registrering. RiksSår har också visats kunna sänka kostnaderna för sårbehandling genom ett strukturerat omhändertagande.
De senaste årens forskning inom ehälsa har påvisat kortare väntetider, sårläkningstider och mer adekvat smärtlindring när videokonsultation används som ett komplement i RiksSår. Ökat engagemang och samarbete mellan vårdpersonal som jobbar med svårläkta sår har också visats i två kvalitativa studier där man använt ett digitalt beslutsstöd (Sår Dermicus).
